GEOGRAPHY VOCABULARY UNIT 1


Physical Geography:  is the study of the natural eviroment.

Human Geography: is tghe study of the population and its characteristics.

Regional Geography: studies the natural or artificial units modified by hu,mans and relates them to all their physical and human elements.

Caetography: is the discipline that is concerned with representing territories .

scale: is a proportional relationship existingbetween what is representing on the map and reality.

cylindrical /conical/flat projection: are a types of priojections with different formed , cilinder , cone and flat.

general maps:  are representations of the earth that show a group of characteristics with very varied .

topographic maps : there are the basic representations of a space , and they are mostly used to locate a range of variables 

thematic maps. show the spatial distribution os specific aspectsof the land . 

GIT: is a group of techniques and methods used to find out about and represent territorries. 

GIS: is a database of geographical data .

GPS: is a type of technology that allows us to know the exact location of any place .
